[this is good]
i'm really sorry about this post, but i'm not able to find the following information out anywhere on the web: i'm wondering how much part-timers have to pay for health insur at the container store and how the coverage compares to those of full time emploees). it seems that against your better advice, i may end up working there. i need a part-time job that provides decent health insurance. thanks.
I don't know, I honestly do not recall. I was never full time, so I never had a good look at their benefits as compared to the so-so part-time benefits and I stopped using their insurance years ago when I got married and became eligible for my husbands far superior insurance plan. If you're doing it for the insurance, go for it. Keep in mind that your coworkers will kick serious ass, the pay won't completely suck (for retail) you will be eligible for health insurance as long as you work more than 8 hours a week (or at least that was the policy before they were purchased) and the discount is pretty good if you need organization products. Just keep smiling, and ALWAYS ALWAYS look busy.
Also, John, as for TCS- they do treat their full timers very well. They just work you to the bone, unless you're really good at faking it. I've never been a good salesperson, so it was always very hard for me... Despite the in depth classes they give. Seriously, if you can detatch and just go with the mantra of the week (and depending on the manager what self-help-book was most recently read- it changes) you'll be fine.
thanks a lot for the info. glad to read that you've got a better gig now.
